As per 2001 census, Allahabad City has a population of 1,050,000 with
about 580,000 males and 470,000 females. It is the 32nd most populous
city in India.
Climate of Allahabad
Allahabad experiences all four seasons. The maximum temperature in
summer (April-June) is between 40 & 45°C. Monsoon begins in
early July and lasts till September. The winter (December-February)
temperatures could drop to freezing with maximum at almost 12 to 14 °C.
It does not snow in Allahabad. Lowest temperature recorded so far was -2°C
and the highest was 48°C.

A prominent city on the map of India, Allahabad has good connectivity
with all major regions through various means of transportation.
- Air : Allahabad is served by the Bamrauli
airport and is linked to Delhi and Kolkata. Other airports in the
vicinity are Varanasi (147 km) and Lucknow (210 km).
- Rail : Allahabad is well connected by trains
with all major cities, viz. Calcutta, Delhi, Jaipur, Lucknow and
Mumbai, Chennai. Allahabad is the headquarter of the North Central
Railways Zone. Allahabad has four railway stations.
- Road : Allahabad, on National Highways 2 and
27, is connected to all parts of the country by good roads.
Allahabad also has three bus stations catering to different routes.
