
Aurangabad,
named after Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb, is a city in Maharashtra.
Literally meaning, "Built by the throne", this city is a
tourist hub. The industrialization in Aurangabad started in mid 70's
with establishment of companies like Lupin, API, Nirlep & Garware
and today it is counted amongst the most industrialized cities of the
nation.
Demographics
As per the 2001 census, the population in Aurangabad was around 28
lakhs of which around 15 lakhs are males and the rest 13 lakhs are
females.
Climate
Temperatures in Aurangabad range from 9 to 40°C. The best time to
visit Aurangabad is in the winter between October and February. Most of
the rainfall occurs in the monsoon season (June-September).

situated in west-central India, 290 km northeast of Mumbai (formerly
Bombay). The city has good connectivity and reach, both at domestic as
well as international level.

by air with flights operating daily. The nearest international
airports are Mumbai and Pune.

- Roads : Aurangabad is connected to all parts of
the country by good roads. Aurangabad has a privately operated
intra-city bus service, AMT, owned by Aurangabad Muncipal

Education in Aurangabad
Aurangabad is well known for the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada
University. It caters to government aided and recognised colleges of
four districts. There are a number of primary and higher secondary
colleges in Aurangabad. The city also has its own engineering college.
