major industrial city, Haryana, became the 12th district of Haryana
state in the year 1979. Situated at 25 Km. away from Delhi, Haryana is
supposed to be the most populous and industrialized city in the entire
Haryana state. Infact, together with Ghaziabad, Noida, Gurgaon,
Faridabad belongs to NCT (National Capital Territory of Delhi).
Demographics
As per 2001 census, population of this region was 1.25 million. With
the growth rate of population at 2.6% per year and average population of
the area is around 9,704 per sq. km, Faridabad has become the most
densely populated city in Haryana.
Climate in Faridabad
Since Faridabad is situated close to Delhi, the climate is more or less
like Delhi with extreme summers and winters. Summers are long and very
hot starting from early April till September end, with the monsoon
season in between. The maximum temperature in summer can reach to 47 °C.
The winter temperature is between 2°C and 25°C. Winter starts
in November and peaks in January with heavy fog. The city, however, has
a pleasant climate from February to April and from August to November.
How to reach Faridabad?
The closest airport is New Delhi. The city is also connected by
railways and buses to Delhi and other areas. There are three railway
stations in Faridabad. Local Transport both private and state buses,
taxis, auto rickshaws, tongas are available. The National Highway
connects Delhi border and Ballabgarh. Metro rail services are likely to
reach the city by 2010 as proposed by Delhi government.

Education in Faridabad
Though most of the students come to Delhi for higher studies, Faridabad
also has a good base for higher education. YMCA Institute of Engineering
in Faridabad is one of the best engineering colleges of northern India.

Dayanand Anglo Vedic Public School (DAV), Aravali International School,
Apeejay School and Modern Vidya Niketan (MVN).
