a distance of 19 Km from Delhi, it is the headquarter of Ghaziabad
district.

The population of Ghaziabad was 5.12 lacs in the year 1991 which
increased to 9.69 lacs in 2001.
Climate in Ghaziabad
As it is connected to Delhi, its climate is similar to Delhi.
Rajasthan's dust storms and snowfall in the Himalayas, Kumaon and
Garhwal hills have a impact in the weather regularly. The monsoon
arrives in the district during the end of the June and normally it rains
till October. Like the other districts of northern India, there are main
seasons - summer, winter and rainy prevail here but sometimes due to
severe snowfall in the Himalayas and Kumaon Hills adverse weather can

International Airport in New Delhi which is about 45 Km from here.
- Roads : By road Ghaziabad is well connected on
all sides to Delhi, NOIDA, Meerut, Saharanpur, Haridwar etc.
Everyday, a large number of people commute to Delhi for work from
Ghaziabad by cars and buses. There is also a Delhi Transport
Corporation (DTC) bus service from ALTTC, Ghaziabad to ITO, Delhi
after about every 15 minutes. Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport
Corporation (UPSRTC) buses ply all over the Ghaziabad.
- Rail : Ghaziabad is also connected to all parts
of the country through Railway line. It is a railway junction and
several lines pass through Ghaziabad. The central railway station is
suitated in the middle of the city.

pharmaceutical plant.
- A number of malls and multiplexes have come up in the city.
- There is tremendous growth of urban population. This is due to
the influx of people to the city for earning their bread and butter
and because of the residential problem of Delhi is increasing, a
