
Originally
called as Nawanagar, Jamnagar is a city in the state of Gujarat. It
serves as the capital of the Jamnagar District. Also known as the "City
of Jams," Jamnagar today is a major industrial region with several
industries run by corporate giants.

According to 1991 census the population of Jamnagar city was 3,26,000.
Climate in Jamnagar
Generally, the climate of Jamnagar district is pleasant. The summer
season starts in March and ends in June. The maximum temperature reaches
up to 42 degree celcius. The monsoons are from July to September. Winter
sets in October and ends in February. The district experiences strong
winds and widespread rain in May, June and July. In the cold season
occasional fog occurs. The summer temperature ranges from 24 to 42
degree celcius and winter temperature ranges from 10 to 24 degree
celcius.

- Rail : There is Western Railway with direct
connections to Ahmedabad. Direct trains from Mumbai, Delhi, Jammu,

of Gujarat.
