Pradesh.It had a population of 2,207,340 in 2001. Lucknow has a humid subtropical climate, The summer is hot with maximum temperature reaching 45 degree celcius. The winters are cool and dry winter from December to February. The winter temperature falls to 3 degrees celsius. Fog is common in winter while hot dry winds called Loo blow in summer. Lucknow is accessible from every part of India through road, air and rail transport. It is directly connected with New Delhi, Patna, Calcutta, Mumbai, Varanasi and other major cities by air. Lucknow airport is located around 20 km outside the city at Amausi. It is an international airport. Lucknow is the major railway junction and connected directly with main cities of the country. It is also connected by road with all parts of the country.
