 Mumbai
(formerly Bombay) is the capital of the state of Maharashtra. It is
India's main port and commercial center. Mumbai is classified as a
metropolis of India. It consists of two distinct regions - the city and
the suburbs. The city region is also commonly referred to as the Island
City

It is the most populous city of India, with an estimated population of
about 13 million as in 2006.
Climate in Mumbai
Being in the tropical zone and near to the Arabian Sea, Mumbai's
climate may be classified into two main seasons - the humid season and
the dry season. The humid season (March and October) is characterised by
high humidity and temperature is over 30 °C. The dry season
(November and February) is characterised by moderate levels of humidity
and warm to cool weather. Cold northerly winds are responsible for a
mild chill during January and February.

- Air : Mumbai has an international Airport. Many
international Airlines operate flights to Mumbai from various parts
of world. Mumbai's Chatrapati Shivaji International Airport is the
busiest airport in India, and caters to cargo and international
flights while Santacruz Airport caters to domestic schedules. The
nearby Juhu Aerodrome was India's first airport, and now is a flying
club and a heliport.
- Road : You can reach Mumbai by road from other
cities from central areas like Mulund and Chembur and through
Dahisar from western area.
- Rail : The city is the headquarter of two rail
divisions - the Central Railway (CR) (formerly known as Victoria
Terminus, VY) and the Western Railway (WR). Western Railway station
is Mumbai Central and intermediate stations are Dadar and Borivali.
The central railway stations are Kurla, Dadar and Mumbai C.S.T.
