Pune, a city located in the western Indian state of Maharashtra is the 8th largest city in India and the second largest in Maharashtra.

In 1991, the population of Pune was 2.5 million in 1991 which rose to about 4 million in 2001.

The climate of Pune is pleasant all throughout the year. The temperate is around 22 degree celcius throughout the year. The monsoon season spreads over for 3 months, from June to September.

How to reach Pune?
Pune is well connected by road, rail and air to the major cities in India.

• Road : It takes about 3 hours to reach Pune from Mumbai by road with the construction of Mumbai-Pune Expressway.
  
  
• Rail : A train journey from Mumbai to Pune also takes about 3 hours. The city has two main railway stations. They are Pune Junction and Shivajinagar Station. Most long distance trains stop at Pune Junction. In addition, Pune local/suburban trains connect Pune Junction to the nearby industrial towns.
  
  
• Air : Pune Airport had only domestic flights previously. But today, it has become an international airport with flights thrice a week going to Singapore as well as Dubai.
