
Ranchi,
the capital of newly formed state of Jharkhand is a mineral feeder for
Indian industries. The city known for its pleasant climate has many

Demographics
As per 2001 census the population of Ranchi is above 2.7 million. The
literacy rate is around 74% which is more than the national average of
59% and the sex ratio is 938. The rural sex ratio (972) is more than the
urban sex ratio(878).
Climate Of Ranchi
Ranchi has cool and pleasant climate. Just like other parts of India it
enjoys all the three major seasons- summer, winter and rainfall. The
temperature ranges between 35°C to 20 °C during summer and 22°C
to 10 °C in winter. The region gets enough rainfall mainly from Bay
of Bengal monsoons.

developed road, railways and airways network.

3 and 4 strengthen its road transportation system. Government is
also planning to connect Ranchi with other major district centers
through 4 - laned track.
